Chitwan, Our first destination in Nepal was the Royal Chitwan National Park, home to the Asian rhino and the Bengali tiger. We were lucky enough to be there while the 6th International Elephant Race took place (image 1). /
Chitwan. Nuestro primer destino en Nepal ha sido el Real Parque Nacional de Chitwan, el hogar del rinoceronte asiatico y el tigre bengali. Tuvimos la buena suerte de que cuando llegamos se estaba celebrando la Sexta Carrera Internacional de Elefantes (foto 1).

One of the highlights of our visit was the elephant ride(image 2) through the park in the early hours of the morning to see the rhinos (image 3) . / Una de las actividades de la que mas disfrutamos fue el paseo por el parque a lomos de elefante (foto 2), muy temprano por la manana, todavia con un poco de niebla, conseguimos ver rinocerontes (foto 3)!!


Life in Chitwan is relaxed and laid back, a pleasant place to recharge oneself. / La vida en Chitwan es super relajada y sin estres, un sitio ideal para cargar las pilas.

The Tharus, the indigenous tribe in this area, are very friendly and hospitable. They still live in mud huts whose walls women decorate for special occasions. (image 4) / Los Tharus, la tribu indigena de esta zona, son gente muy amable y hospitalaria. Viven en cabanas con estructura de madera y paredes de paja y arcilla. Las mujeres son las encargadas de decorar con pinturas de colores naturales las paredes de las chozas en ocasiones especiales (foto 4)

(image 5) / (Segun Athula) Yo he cambiado por unas horas la TDM (nuestra moto) por un elefante que se tomo mas de un descanso en nuestro paseo por el parque para tomar 'unas tapitas' (varias ramas y hierba fresca) (foto 5)
