Masjed-e Sheike Lotfollah, the smaller mosque on the east side of the square was built by Shah Abbas I for the exclusive use of his entourage and was dedicated to his father-in-low, e Lotfollah.
It took 20 years to built and the unusual features include: underground prayer room for winter and the absence of minarets. / Masjed-e Sheike Lotfollah es la mezquita pequena en el lado este de la plaza. Construida por el Shah Abbas I para uso exclusivo de su corte y dedicada a la memoria de su suegro, Lotfollah. Su construccion duro 20 anos, y algunas de sus caracteristicas que la hacen una mezquita un poco particular son la sala de rezos subterraneas, usada en invierno, y la ausencia de minaretes.
