Now that we are in Iran, having spent nearly 5 weeks in Turkey, we have noticed few obvious difference between the two countries, apart from the massive difference in fuel(petrol) price Turkey and Iran (1.6/L Euro - 0.6/L Euro). / Ahora que estamos en Iran, y despues de pasar 5 semanas en Turkia, hemos notado varias diferencias entre los dos paises aparte de la diferencia abismal de precio de la gasolina - 1.6 euro/litro en Turkia frente a 0.6 euro/litro en Iran!!!

There is less haggling in Iran, not just because that there is very few tourist here but Iranians seems to lack the energy of the Turks that we experienced. Which we are not too unhappy about. Turkey was a constant "hello how are you, where you from?" Iran has much less of that but people are very curious to know about you but with out the intention of making a money. / Hay menos regateo en Iran, no solo porque hay menos turistas sino porque parece que los iranies no tienen la misma energia que los turcos. Lo cierto es que nosotros lo preferimos asi. En Turkia todo era un constante "hola, como estas, de donde eres?", en Iran es mucho menos, aunque la gente tiene mucha curiosidad por saber acerca de nosotros, la intencion no es la de sacarte los dinerillos.

But it must be said that Turks have been very helpful all the time. / De todos modos tenemos que decir que la gente en Turkia siempre ha sido muy amable y nos ha ayudado en todo momento.

There are more presence of women on the street( as much as men) than in Turkey but they are more covered according to the countries Islamic law which states girls from age of 9 need to wear a Hijab. We have noticed that public transport (buses) were divided front(men) and back(women). / Aunque parezca mentira hay mas mujeres en la calle (casi tanto como hombres) en Iran que en Turkia, pero van mucho mas cubiertas, de acuerdo con las leyes islamicas del pais que obligan a todas mujeres y ninas mayores de 9 anos, a llevar hijab. Hemos notado ademas que en el transporte publico (buses) hay una clara division entre zona de hombres (en la delantera del autobus) y mujeres (siempre detras).

Unlike in Turkey, there is almost no children working on the street or markets in Iran.
There seems to be far fewer people smoking in Iran where as boys as young as 5-6 were smoking in Turkey(mainly in the east). / A diferencia de Turkia no hay ninos trabajando en los mercados o en las tiendas en Iran. Tambien parece que la gente fuma muchisimo menos, cuando en Turkia todo el mundo parecia una pura chimenea, e incluso vimos muchos ninos de 5 y 6 anos fumando en la calle (sobre todo en el este del pais).

Though Iran is less industrialised than Turkey, the roads in Iran probably the best we have seen since leaving Hungary ( not that Turkey was bad). / Aunque Iran sea un pais menos industrializado que Turkia, las carreteras son las mejores que hemos visto desde Hungria (y no es que las carreteras en Turkia estuvieran mal en absoluto)


And it has to be said that Iranians are very hospitable and we have already been invited twice for meals and had decline quite a few other invitations from total strangers who we met while asking directions etc... / Y tenemos que decir que los iranies son la gente mas hospitalaria que hemos encontrado; ya nos han invitado (y hemos aceptado) a comer 2 veces, y hemos tenido que rechazar unas pocas de invitaciones de gente totalmente desconocida a la que solamente habiamos preguntado por como se iba a algun sitio!!
