As we were inquiring about motorcycle tyres we met this chap, owner of a motorcycle repair shop in Tabriz with a late 70's CB 750 in beautiful condition and there seems to be few of these still around.

Since the Islamic revolution in '79 there is restrictions on the size (200 cc max) of motorcycles allowed in Iran, which is it might as well be as we been told by the customs at the border that Iran has the highest traffic fatalities recorded in the world. ( but I recon that India must be worse!)
The first place where we stayed in Iran was Maku, about 25 km from the Turkish border. Then we headded straight to Tabrize (pop 1.6m).

This north western region of Iran is called Azerbaijan and populated mainly of Turks and Azerbaijanians. The region tend to be cold and wet in the winter and there was no lack of rain while we were there.
There was little to see apart from the Bazaar / La verdad es que no habia mucho que ver excepto el bazar, pero tuvimos que pasar unos dias aqui debido a la lluvia.
